At this time last year I was hours away from the birth of our son. I found this picture of him, taken at a few weeks old, when all was seemingly right in our world. Six months later he would be diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, a fatal metabolic disorder that has treatment option if caught before symptoms appear. Had Kenan been identified through newborn screening, we'd be fighting a different fight now. Knowledge is, indeed, power. Please support Expanded Newborn Screening in your state.
